Kurt Vile’s ‘Bottle It In’ out on 12th October

Since garnering attention with his track ‘Smoke Ring for My Halo’ in 2011, Vile has emerged as one of the most prominent faces in indie rock. Former lead guitarist of the band ‘War on Drugs’, Vile started his career as a solo artist with the release of two albums, Constant Hitmaker (2008) and God Is Saying This to You… (2009), in which he compiled various home recordings. He signed to Matador Records in 2009, and released his third album, and first studio album ‘Childish Prodigy’. Since then, he has released 3 more albums which have contributed to his rise in fame. “Pretty Pimpin“, from the album ‘b’lieve I’m goin down…’ (2015) topped  the Billboard Adult Alternative Songs chart in March 2016 and has been the artist’s most successful track till date.

He announced his new album ‘Bottle It In’ with the release of his track “Bassackwards,” a song about his fears for the future of world. This LP is Vile’s first solo effort since 2015’s ‘b’lieve I’m goin down…’, and is his seventh studio album. The 13 track album will be released on October 12 via Matador and has contributions from the likes of Kim Gordon, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Mary Lattimore, Lucius’ Holly Laessig, Jess Wolfe and Cass McCombs.

Vile also announced a number of national (U.S.A) and international tour dates to promote his new album starting on the day of the album release in Germany. Find out more about the tour dates here.
