After her support tour with The Mighty Oaks in the EU, Ditty is back in India to play her 'AZADI' Tour! Catch her performing all new music from her upcoming record 'Kaali', as well as favorites from 'Poetry Ceylon' to celebrate 5 years of ‘Deathcab’ and her first hindi release, ‘AZADI’. She will be touring India with her new three piece setup to create a live experience filled with spoken word, poetry and incredible live music.
She will be collaborating with local environmentalists and artists to start important conversations around the climate crisis and communal regeneration. Several artists from the indie community shall be joining as special guests to read poetry at the shows. In 2020, Ditty had created India's first carbon neutral tour, Make Forests not War. This is her 4th such tour and is aimed to be climate neutral.
The Bangalore leg of the tour will occur at the Bangalore Creative Circus - a community focused on transformative and holistic change through collaboration, inclusivity, positivity, and reimagination. The BLR Creative Circus represents a growing community of artists, scientists, chefs, gardeners, dreamers and changemakers, all committed to inspire and enable a regenerative culture for individuals and systems alike.
Ditty will be supported on the day by Mahesh Raghunandan, a singer songwriter and musician from Bangalore, India. Weaving elements of folk, pop, and indie into a tapestry of heartfelt storytelling and emotive melodies, his vocals and songwriting have been likened to artists like John Mayer, Damien Rice, Radiohead, and Jeff Buckley. Mahesh’s music is extremely moving and deeply personal, while his performances leave you engrossed and enthralled.
About Azadi
Āzādī is an offering of hope. It is a reminder to uplift all around us– human and non human. Ditty comes back, 5 years after her Debut, Poetry Ceylon (called ‘debut album of the year’ by India Today) with her first Hindi single, Azadi. Ditty recorded the track live at the 1.4 billion year old Aravalis, in the midst of singing birds and the sounds of the forest.
